Capabilities

A complete-package service, from concept to finished product.

CPT provides an integrated capability set — from early design input through moulding, overmoulding, assembly, sterilisation and logistics — all conducted under a single ISO 13485:2016 quality management system.

What CPT does

Twelve integrated capabilities under one roof.

From LSR moulding cells and cleanroom assembly through to overmoulded electronics, packaging and sub-contract sterilisation, select any capability below to expand its detail.

Overview

Dedicated liquid silicone rubber injection moulding across a broad spectrum of platinum-cured LSR systems.

Highly efficient LSR moulding on Arburg and Maplan presses from 20 to 160 tonne, including our new MAPLAN MTF/160/100 edition S press, running multi-cavity cold-runner tooling for tight-tolerance medical components. Platinum-cured chemistry, low-particulate processing and repeatable cure profiles support drug-contact, patient-contact and implantable-grade applications.

Overview

Silicone injection moulding across LSR and HCR systems, in a dedicated medical moulding environment.

Precision injection moulding of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and high-consistency rubber (HCR) — from micro-components and thin-wall parts to multi-cavity consumables. Tooling, cure profiles and process monitoring are qualified within the ISO 13485 quality system with documented material traceability from batch to finished device.

Detail

  • LSR and HCR silicone injection moulding
  • Shore A hardness from 5 to 80+
  • Cold-runner multi-cavity tooling for high-volume consumables
  • Insert moulding of metal, ceramic and electronic components
  • In-cavity pressure and process monitoring
  • Material traceability from raw batch to finished part

Overview

Traditional compression presses supporting a wide range of polymer and elastomer formats.

Compression moulding remains ideal for HCR silicone, larger cross-sections, thick-walled parts and legacy tooling. CPT operates a bank of compression presses that complement injection processes and support small-batch, prototype and specialist material trials.

Detail

  • High-consistency rubber (HCR) silicone
  • Fluorosilicone, EPDM and specialist elastomers
  • Large-cross-section and thick-walled parts
  • Legacy tool re-life and transfer projects
  • Small-batch and low-volume production runs

Overview

Transfer moulding for encapsulation, insert-heavy geometries and specialist elastomer parts.

Transfer moulding bridges compression and injection processes — pre-loading a measured charge and transferring it under pressure into a closed cavity. It is well suited to encapsulating fragile inserts, delicate electronics and complex insert arrangements without damage.

Detail

  • Encapsulation of fragile inserts and electronics
  • Multi-insert tooling for connector and sensor bodies
  • Consistent flash control and cavity fill
  • HCR silicone and specialist elastomer formulations
  • Suited to short-to-medium production volumes

Overview

Room-temperature vulcanising and UV-cure silicone processing for prototypes, potting and low-volume moulding.

RTV silicones cure without heat, making them ideal for soft prototype tooling, encapsulation, gap-filling and delicate parts that cannot tolerate oven curing. UV-cure grades give rapid fixturing for fast-turn assemblies and repair work. CPT uses RTV alongside its LSR, HCR and transfer processes to cover the full moulding spectrum.

Silicone component inspection workflow

Detail

  • Condensation and addition-cure RTV systems
  • UV-cure and UV-accelerated grades for fast processing
  • Potting, encapsulation and soft tooling
  • Low exotherm and low-shrink options for delicate parts
  • Prototype, repair and low-volume production applications

Overview

Moulding, assembly, printing, inspection and packaging within ISO 8 Class K (100,000) cleanrooms.

CPT operates ISO 8 Class K (100,000) classified cleanrooms with controlled temperature, humidity and particulate monitoring. Silicone moulding cells feed directly into cleanroom assembly, inspection and packaging — keeping components under environmental control from the moment they leave the tool.

Overview

Encapsulation and overmoulding of LEDs, PCBs, sensors, wiring and rigid substrates in silicone or TPE.

CPT overmoulds sensitive electronics into robust, sealed silicone bodies for wearables, diagnostic probes, light-therapy devices and single-use surgical tools. Low-pressure LSR and controlled transfer processes protect delicate components while producing sterile-barrier, waterproof and biocompatible finished assemblies.

  • Rigid-to-soft bonding onto metal, ceramic and other rigid substrates
  • Low-pressure LSR processes to protect delicate components

Overview

Front-end support for difficult, novel or early-stage silicone product enquiries.

CPT engineers work with customer teams from the earliest concept stages — advising on material selection, part geometry, tooling strategy and process route. We invest in low-volume trials and specialist tooling to de-risk novel products before committing to production tooling.

Prototype to high-volume production

From R&D trials to established series production.

CPT supports the full manufacturing lifecycle. Early-stage customers make use of available capacity for low-volume R&D trials, novel materials and specialist tooling. As products mature, production scales into series manufacture, supplying validated components in significant annual volumes to established medical and life-science manufacturers.
